The Accountant will participate in all aspects of accounting and reporting for a public company which include:

• Consolidated Financial Statements
• Management Discussion and Analysis
• Compliance with Canadian GAAP
• Management reporting and analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Variance and margin analysis
• Assistance with due diligence activities
  

Requirements

• Professional accounting designation
• Three years senior accounting experience
• Public company reporting experience preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in a variety of accounting systems
• Retail accounting experience would be considered an asset
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and anticipate future needs and risks

Paragon Pharmacies is currently seeking an HR Manager for the corporate office in Kelowna.   The successful candidate will guide strategic planning and facilitate the implementation of programs and services for all levels of employees within the company. 

Responsibilities:

·         Review and formulate company policies, and develop practices to consistently implement policies company-wide

·         Recruiting

·         Work with management to create and foster a corporate culture to help achieve company goals

·         Create and monitor training and development programs to retain current and future employees

·         Communicate strategies, goals, and outcomes to all levels of staff and management

·         Ensuring compliance with all relevant stakeholders

Requirements include:

• 2-4 year direct HR experience, with an HR degree preferred
• An ability to creatively problem solve
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• The tenacity to take a project from vision to implementation
• Knowledge of Employment Standards and Privacy Legislation across the provinces
• Objectivity, confidentiality, and sensitivity to personnel issues
